Irreversible Demagnetization Improvement Process of Hybrid Traction Motors with Dy-Free Magnets

Permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs), with their high power density, efficiency, and thermal stability, are widely used nowadays. PMSM magnets composed of rare earth elements. However, elements subject to severe price fluctuations because limited availability the monopoly some countries. Therefore, extensive research on devoid has been conducted recently. Although a irreversible demagnetization rate at temperatures owing its low coercive force, an improvement process is proposed in this paper compensate for disadvantage. This analyzes contribution magnet’s back EMF (electromotive force) using flux linkage equation, which does not change time. Next, location moved position electromotive force. Consequently, even if occurs same size, ratio reduced. The can minimize while maintaining performance.
